4. I am searching for a specific medication and I cannot find it on your site.
If you are a first time visitor to our site, you will find a general overview of the different content areas and some navigation hints in the Mediconsult.com Help Area.
Here are some frequently asked questions that visitors have asked in the past.
| 1. | I am new to your site, where do I start?
We suggest you start your search for information in our Educational Material area located in each medical condition. This section will provide you with some basic understanding of the disease. You then may wish to review our Journal Articles for the latest medical journal articles, and maybe post a question or comment in our Discussion Groups.
|
| 2. | I have never used a Discussion Group , how can this service help me?
Our individual Discussion Groups are places where you can interact with others who share your concerns. You can 'post' questions or comments on any aspect of the condition you are interested in. You can also respond to someone else's posting by using the respond button located at the bottom of the posting you are reading. I would suggest reading some of the postings in the group to get a feel for the types of questions and comments that this group deals with. If you are unsure you want to post your question in this 'public forum' you can always e-mail our Visitor Communications Specialist.

| 3. | I cannot find the disease I am concerned with on your site
Occasionally there is more than one way to refer to a specific disease, i.e. Erectile Dysfunction is also called Impotence and Crohn's disease is also called Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Don't worry about having to think up different names, just type the name for the disease that you are interested in into our Search Engine and it will find any reference to the condition. You can also try our Alternative Disease Name option that lists most of the alternative names for the diseases located in our Medical Clinics.
If you cannot find the condition you are interested in, please e-mail our Visitor Communication Specialist and she will investigate adding it to our site and will try to direct you to where you can find additional material on your disease condition on the web.

| 4. | I am searching for a specific medication and I cannot find it on your site.
Try to enter the medication name into Search Engine and if you still cannot find any reference to that medication, try the web site PharmInfoNet.
PharmInfoNet offers a selection of drug information resources with particular emphasis on new drug reviews Including the following: "Drug Database: Drug DB". This is a browsable and searchable index to articles and resources arranged by generic and brand drug names and the Frequently-Asked Questions: (Drug FAQs). Answers to your questions about specific drugs.
